Invisi-bottle is a game where players must be the first to find a bottle submerged in the water. However, the bottle blends in with the pool making it a bit difficult to find!
This pool game tests a player’s observational and diving skills.
Accessories or Set Up Needed
For the bottle, use either a 2-liter soda bottle or a smaller plastic bottle.
Remove the bottle cap and any wrappers, or at least have a clear bottle cap. The point of the bottle is for it to be “invisible”, or hard to spot right away.
How To Play Invisi-bottle
One person outside of the pool is responsible for placing the bottle into the pool while the other players have their backs turned.
Once the bottle is in the water, on a signal, the players turn around and begin their search, the first player to locate and retrieve the bottle wins the round.
Before Starting, Set the Gameplay
There are many ways to play Invisi-Bottle, all challenging in their own way. Normally, the game is played individually where each player has a chance to find the bottle each round.
It can either be a battle royale-style game where all players are playing each round or a time-based game where one player goes at a time and the player to find the bottle the fastest, wins.
Playing Invisi-bottle
- Players start on one side of the pool with their backs turned and eyes closed.
- A participant who is not playing fills up the bottle with water and sets it in the pool so it floats to the bottom
- On the given signal, all players will turn around and start to look for the bottle in the pool.
- Players will dive and swim around the pool, using observation skills to locate the camouflaged bottle.
- A round is over when the bottle has been found!
Rules
- The player who places the bottle in the pool must do so within the set boundaries.
- Players must have their backs turned and eyes closed while the bottle is placed. No Peeking!
- No dunking pulling players underwater while playing.
Variations
- Invisi-Bottle Toss: Instead of placing it in the water, the bottle gets thrown into the water. When players hear the splash, they turn around and start looking.
- Play Invisi-bottle in teams. Both teams all play at once, and whichever team finds the bottle first wins the round
- Add a time limit for each round, making the search more intense and fast-paced. This turns it into a speed game.
Safety First
Safety should always be a priority when playing pool games. Each participant must be able to freely swim and dive in the deep end. This game is not meant for players who are still unable to swim.
